]]>You’ve seen IT on every local news station! You’ve seen IT on national news stories, including CNN. You’ve seen IT on most sport’s programs, including ESPN. But, the only way you can see IT live is by visiting and touring the LeBron James Akron “I Promise School”. IT is a beautiful mural created by George Vlosich, exclusively for everyone who has the opportunity to be in the school.
In the early stages of development of the I Promise School, GV Art was invited by the LeBron James Family Foundation to tour the facility and talk through a vision of putting meaningful artwork in strategic areas throughout the school. As we toured the facility, we noticed a wall going down a pretty substantial staircase, and thought there had to be something there. The stairwell would be a busy spot for kids coming and going, and it would get major traffic. It was just too perfect and it seemed to lend itself to art.
In discussing this opportunity with the Foundation’s staff, we were made aware of some of LeBron’s mentors and heroes and people who had inspired him throughout his life. Those stories gave George inspiration and ideas and the creative process began! “I thought doing something a little bit more sports oriented would be cool for this project, so you see Muhammad Ali with a butterfly, Jackie Robinson, a young LeBron James, and some others. I wanted to include Martin Luther King Jr. in there because he was an inspiration for LeBron in his philanthropic life. Overall, I wanted to create something visually inspiring that had a message using, not only the quotes, but the portraits as well.”
The mural took three weeks to complete! It was done just in time for the school’s grand opening and first day of school on July 30. We were able to tour the school, which will provide Akron students and their parents with resources and opportunities to overcome hardships and become successful in school and in life, the day before it opened.
The finished I Promise School for grades 2 and 3 is quite amazing. It was really awesome to tour the school with my family and to see all of the “ins and outs” of the school. It made us think of how great it is to be part of something so legendary. This school could be the start of something nationally that transforms the way we educate our children.
We all know LeBron James as a great basketball player. It is so enlightening to see him put into action other things that are close to his heart. We can relate to that.
]]>We had a great time launching our new All Star design with Michael Brantley at the game.

During the Finals Last week NBA Inside stuff came out to do a story on George's Etches, our Artwork and our GV Brand. Check out the feature below and thanks for to the NBA for tweeting it out and showing GV some love. George was on NBA Inside stuff about 20 years ago when he was still in High School. It is really neat to see how far George and our GV Brand has come. We have been drawing our favorite Athletes since we were 5 years old and were truly blessed that we have the opportunity to combine our two loves into our business and what we do for a living. Check out the tweet and video link below!

And just last week we teamed up with arguable the Tribe's Most Valuable Player this year, Jose Ramirez on a new Yes Way Jose shirt that has taken off in Cleveland. He was so excited the night we got him his own GV shirt that he went 3-4 with a 2 run homer and 4 RBI's.

With such a historic election and The RNC here in Cleveland George even created this Etch A Sketch of Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump.
Thanks to my dad, we grew up huge Muhammad Ali fans. As little kids we knew about him and his amazing personality and throughout the years we have created about a dozen pieces of Artwork showcasing the legend. They were always our favorite to work on. In 1997 thanks to an Etch A Sketch that George created we were fortunate enough to meet Ali. It was difficult for him to speak but his eyes lit up when he saw the Etch. He signed a pair of boxing gloves for us and the Etch A Sketch and even surprised us with some magic tricks. It was a moment we will never forget.
Here are a few of our pieces of artwork throughout the years including some pieces that we created back when we were in High School.
Here is a piece below that is still in progress. It's done with acrylic paint on a 4 foot by 6 foot wood board.
Here's George's Original Ali Etch that Muhammad signed and was amazed by.
George's latest Etch A Sketch below is probably our favorite Etch of all time and just like Ali it is One Of A Kind and completely Original. From the detailed line work of the Etch we have created some limited edition silk screen prints and even a limited edition run of T shirts.
Here is an example of the silk screen prints we created.
Our new Limited Edition shirts are now available for a very short time. Click on the shirt to order yours before they are gone for good.

Ever since I was in middle school in 1997 or 1998 I can remember VHS taping all of the Lakers games. I used to watch them over and over just to study Kobe's moves and try to emulate him in open gym or practice the next day. Kobe has always been a favorite of ours and over the years my brother George and I have loved to paint and draw him. We have done 10-12 paintings and drawings over the past 20 years staying up late watching the west coast games while drawing on the living room floor. With this being his last game in Cleveland I wanted to share a few pieces of art we have had fun creating over the years. Also, stay tuned for George's newest Etch a Sketch that will feature the Mamba. Let us know what you think and make sure you check out our art section to see the two Kobe pieces we have available. One an Original Matted Print and one from one of my favorite photographs that I have taken. https://gvartwork.com/collections/artwork
This was a photograph I took while I was lucky enough to be sitting court side while taking photos for a basketball magazine. It was an experience I will never forget and one major thing on my bucket list I was able to cross off.
This is one of my favorite pieces to date and the Original hangs in my office. This print is also available as a matted print on our site as well.
As mentioned, George has begun a brand new Kobe Bryant Etch A Sketch as a tribute. It is not completed for tonights game but we will keep you posted when the piece is finally finished. Here is a sneak peek below.

We are extremely excited for this Saturday and our second year in a row of GV Art Night at Progressive Field. Let's all do an Indian dance and lets keep the rain away this time! The first 12,500 fans will be receiving a special commemorative Summer of '95 GV Art and Design T shirt featuring all of Cleveland's players that made it a special A.L. Championship year.
We unveiled the shirt 2 weeks ago with a press conference with Sandy Alomar at the stadium. It was neat to announce it with Sandy who was not only a huge part of the Summer of 95 but a huge part in the success of GV. He was always a big fan of our work and always went out of his way to show players on the other teams George's Etch a Sketch artwork. While at the game Saturday be sure to check out George's Etch and 6 foot Indians Sluggers mural at the new Gate C entrance. Join us Saturday to celebrate and bring back the Summer of 95 all over again. See you there!

Check out our latest artwork and video for the 2015 NBA Finals of Lebron James.
In 2007 we created our first youtube video, song, and t-shirt that showcased our talents and launched our GV brand. It showed, from start to finish, how George Vlosich III created his one-of-a-kind artwork on the Etch A Sketch.
The video had 1 million views in a week and was selected for "best viral video of the year" by 20/20.
Now, with the NBA Finals back in Cleveland we are launching a new video with even more detail, and another original song written by George Vlosich Jr.
Check out the video of the world’s greatest basketball player by the world’s greatest Etch A Sketch artist from CLEVELAND, Ohio.
Thanks for watching and go CLEVELAND!
